Childhood trauma affects each person differently, but there is always a reaction to having lived through trauma. Not everyone has the foundation and resources available to heal and move beyond the trauma. Some people get lost in alternatives for healing that become lifelong cycles of addiction, abuse, and poverty. We Are Starfish is a faith-based organization collaborating with partners to reach areas that need resources and support. We are creating programs to encourage and foster healing. Additionally, We Are Starfish supports individuals who have experienced childhood trauma in their efforts to become self-sufficient. We are creating a new cycle of healing, change, and hope. Some of these same people will grow and work together to create a self-sustaining environment for Families, Individuals, and Children at risk from trauma. These places will become a place for people to live, work, and heal.
